‘Ataq Museum

The ‘Ataq Museum was built in 1981 according to plans drawn by the French Archaeological Mission at Shabwa. Most of the pieces were transferred to ‘Ataq from the Museum of Shabwa in 1981-1982 and displayed by Rémy Audouin, as well as Alexander Sedov exhibited material from the Yemeni-Soviet mission at Qana’ (Bir Alî).

Aden National Museum

The National Museum of Aden is located within the "Crater". It is one of the greatest Yemeni museums for number of pieces and prestige, housing several hundreds of pieces, such statues, alabaster stela and incense burners.

Aden University Museum

The University Museum of Aden is located in the Central Library of the Aden University. Its collection is made up of a huge amount of inscribed objects, in addition to pottery vessels, jars and vases. It has also some valuable artefacts, just like the relief that represents Hercules fighting with the lion.

Baynun Museum

The largest museum in terms of number of objects, the Baynun museum focuses on antiquities found in Baynun and the surrounding areas: more than 70 inscriptions along with many anepigraphic objects, comprising animal and human statues, lamps, jewels, utensils.

Dhamar Regional Museum

The Regional Museum is the main museum of the Dhamar governorate. Within its collection of pre-Islamic antiquities, a number of archaic dedicatory stelae are particularly important from the historical point of view.

Dhamar University Museum

The University Museum of Dhamar was created to fulfil the educational and training needs of students of the Faculty of Arts. It houses houses a number of funerary stelae with stylized face from al-Jawf and a few objects from Zafar dating back to the Himyarite period.

Sana Military Museum

The Military Museum of Sana is one of the most prestigious and famous museums of Yemen. It has a large collection of ancient South Arabian artefacts, in many cases, of great historical importance or of great historical and artistic interest.

Sana University Museum

The first museum in the Yemeni universities, it has a quite rich epigraphic collection, consisting of about one hundred texts and some remarkable artefacts.

Zinjibar Museum

The Zinjibar museum, in the Abyan governorate, includes a small but valuable collection of South Arabian objects, made up of 15 pieces.
