Archaeological report of the campaign SUM2015B

The second archaeological campaign at Sumhuram of 2015 focused on the western area of the city (Area F) and to the south of the “Monumental Building 2”.

The excavation of this structure was carried to the end and new buildings probably linked to the structure were found. Inside one of these rooms a very big circular inlay made by agate stone was discovered, in addition to an almost complete glass bottle, probably for perfume, presently under restoration.

In the south-western part of the city, close to the city wall, the water channel was completely dug out in order to understand the street network of this area of the city.

The related archaeological report is now available for download.
