International Exhibition of Archaeology. Firenze, Palazzo dei Congressi, February, 17th to 19th, 2017

This is the third edition of “tourismA”, the international Exhibition of Archaeology organized by Archeologia Viva (magazine published by Giunti Editore).

tourismA is addressed to public and private research institutions, parks, museums, tour operators and professional categories involved into the archaeological, artistic and monumental heritage fields. It is a perfect occasion to meet, display and discuss all the initiatives related to the communication of the ancient world and the promotion of its witnesses.

About 30 parallel conferences, attended by 240 speakers, workshops and exhibitions (with exhibitors from Egypt, Jordan, Turkey, Croatia, Cyprus, Algeria) are scheduled in three days. Conferences will focus on Lombards, Etruscans, Prehistory of Italy, but also on the archaeological missions of the Italian Universities abroad (Morocco, Oman, Mexico, Peru, Turkey).

Prominent personalities of the archaeological research, as well as scientific communication and from cultural institutions, will attend tourismA: Zahi Hawass, Piero Angela and Alberto Angela, Valerio Massimo Manfredi, the Greek Minister of Culture Lydia Koniordou and Louis Godart, cultural adviser to President of the Italian Republic, the Italian Minister of Cultural Heritage and Activities Dario Franceschini.

Prof. Alessandra Avanzini will present the activities of the Italian Mission to Oman (IMTO) in the conference "SPES CONTRA SPEM Italian archaeology and research abroad at the time of crisis".
