Musterian and Neolithic artifacts at Al Hamr al-Sharqiya

The results of the latest excavation campaign at Al Hamr al-Sharqiya are of great importance. Indeed the Musterian artifacts found in the current investigation lead to date the occupation of the area back to the Pleistocene. Furthermore, a cluster of Neolithic artifacts suggests a more capillary occupation of the area in that period. Therefore the site does not only provide archeological evidences from the Bronze Age to the Islamic period, but was already frequented during the Palaeolithic.
