2014 ASOR Annual Meeting

San Diego - CA, The Westin San Diego hotel, November 19th - 22nd

The Annual Meeting of the American Schools of Oriental Research will be held in San Diego, CA, from November 19th to 22nd 2014 at The Westin San Diego hotel.

The Annual Meeting brings together ASOR's academic community. Over 1,000 scholars of archaeology, linguistics, geography, epigraphy, anthropology, and other fields related to the study of the ancient Near East meet  to present their current findings and discuss their research.

ASOR is a non-profit organization that supports and encourages the study of the cultures and history of the Near East from the earliest times, by fostering original research, archaeological excavations and explorations, building support for Near Eastern studies, and advocating high academic standards.

Prof. Avanzini will give a presentation entitled "The Port of Sumhuram: New Data on Sea Trade in the Indian Ocean".
