The archaeological site of Sumhuram “Khor Rori”

The archaeological site of Sumhuram, in the territory of Khor Rori, lies in the Governorate of Dhofar, southern of the Sultanate of Oman.
Getting the site

The site is located on the main road from Salalah to Mirbat, about 40 kilometres eastward from Salalah.
All along the way have been placed boards indicating the direction and the entrance to the archaeological park.
An asphalt road, recently made, allows to reach very easily the entrance to the archaeological park; a stone paved road travels from the entrance to the site and to the Sumhuram Gallery.
Opening times
The archaeological park is open to visitors all year round, from 8.00 A.M. to 7. P.M.
The payment of a ticket allows to visit the site, the park and the recently inaugurated "Sumhuram Gallery".
The site is lighted up during the night and the visit of the city at the sunset is highly recommended for the beauty of the colours of the landscape and of the settlement.
Bookshop and guided Tours
In the same building of the gallery it's possible to have a rest in a cafeteria and to visit the small bookshop. Considering the works in progress, the visitors are hearthly recommend to walk inside the paths. A tourist guide of the site is available at the entrance and in the bookshop of the Gallery.
