British Museum

The Department of Middle East houses a rich South Arabian collection, one of the most important outside Yemen. It includes over 800 antiquities from Yemen: inscriptions on stone blocks and metal plaques, sculptures, funerary stelae, altars and incense burners, silver and bronze coins, gold jewellery, seals, metalwork and pottery.

Museo Nazionale d'Arte Orientale

The Museo Nazionale d'Arte Orientale originated from a group of artifacts formerly belonging to the Istituto Italiano per il Medio ed Estremo Oriente, presently the Istituto Italiano per l'Africa e l'Oriente. The Ancient Near East section includes the important collections of Yemeni antiquities collected by the Honorary Governor of Eritrea Corrado Zoli and by the archaeologist Cesare Ansaldo.
