Cataloguing of the Aden Governorate museums

For the year 2008 the coordinators of CASIS decided to work in the Aden and Abyan governorates.
This choice was motivated by the wish to work in the National Museum of Aden, one of the greatest Yemeni museums for prestige, number of pieces and the historical-artistic value of them.
The cataloguing activity in the selected museums started in November 1st and lasted for 3 weeks.
The 2008 team comprised Alessia Prioletta, Alessandra Lombardi and Irene Rossi from the University of Pisa.
The Yemeni side, coordinated by Khaldon Noman, comprised 6 people selected among the students and museum staff who had followed the training course: Ali Ahmed Abdulla Mousa and Hussam Ali Kassem (GOAM, Aden Museum), Mohammed Awadh Balayan (Aden University), Mohammed Musid Al-Sharie (Dhamar University), Maher Abdullah Alwajih (Sanaa University), Salem Ahmed Mansoor (GOAM, Abyan Museum).
Dr. Raja Bataweel, director of the National Museum of Aden, Dr. Ahmed Bataya, Responsible for the Aden University Museum, and Salem as-Salami, director of the Zinjibar museum constantly supported the team.
