CASIS 3rd training course

Within the activities of CASIS project for the year 2009 we organized a training course specifically intended for museum staff, restorers and archaeologists from Yemen.
The course was focused on learning the most important restoration techniques of bronze artefacts and ceramics, but it has also provided familiarity with photography techniques and digital restoration applied to archaeological objects, along with a basic knowledge of the principal museum promotion theories and practises.
This course, held in Pisa, at the premises of Dipartimento di Scienze Storiche del Mondo Antico had a duration of three weeks. It did run from Monday to Friday with a morning and an afternoon session.
Six students were selected for the course: Asma Mohammed Ali Al-Rugami (Dhamar), Essam Mohammed Ali Al-Rugami (Dhamar), Shaddad Ahmed al-Alie (Baynun), Mohammed Baleian (Aden), Hussam Aqlan (Aden), Masir Mohammed (Aden).
Among them, we were happy to have a female student, Asma al-Rugami, who brilliantly distinguished herself during the course.
