Archaeological research in the Iron Age fortified site of Salut

Mission IMTO’s team has always been characterized by a multi-discipline character: archaeologists, historians, epigraphists, but also restorers, architects, botanists and geologists have been involved, from the beginning, in the project.
Collaborations with different departments of Pisa University and other Italian and foreign Universities and Institutions (University of Florence; University of Bologna; Erbario Tropicale, Florence; Monuments and Fine Arts Service of Tuscany, Florence; CNRS, Paris; National Museum of Oriental Art, Moscow; British Museum, London; KAVA, Bonn) are in course since many years.
The following members took part to the last missions in Khor Rori and Salut : A. Avanzini, S. Bizzarri, G. Buonomini, V. Buffa, G. Cecinato, C. Condoluci, M. Degli Esposti, V. Filatondi, E. Kurkina, S. Martelli, A. Massa, S. Micali, A. Pavan, S. Rossi, A.V. Sedov.

The following students from the University of Pisa joined the mission during the last campaigns: G. Buono, C. Rizzo, G. Russo, C. Carbonara, C. Pappalardo, M. Sasso, E. Tagliamonte.
The work of IMTO is possible thanks to the collaboration of the Office of the Adviser of His Majesty the Sultan for Cultural Affairs in Salalah and in Muscat.
