Sana Military Museum

The Military Museum of Sana is one of the most prestigious and famous museums of Yemen.
It is housed in a beautiful building named Dar as-Sanay, build in the Ottoman era, 1902, that has undergone several changes, having been a school for industrial workers, then a prison, a guesthouse for the Iraqi military mission and finally the headquarter of the ministry of interior and security.
The museum there was established only in 1984.
The museum preserves testimonies and documents related to the recent history of Yemen, since the Imamate until the proclamation of the Republic.
The object display is organized by five main sections: stone weapons in the army; army in the ancient age; army in the middle age; army in the Ottoman and Imam era; the Yemeni army after the revolution of 1962.
